SERVPRO is an excellent choice for restoration for many reasons, like the vast expertise we have with every kind of cleanup and repair. We take care of anything from fire to mold with certified remediation services that help protect the structure of your home.

We can also offer cleanup for biohazards or the removal of graffiti.

But to us, the most important SERVPRO quality is that we are local! Let’s learn how it really sets us apart.

3 Reasons Being Locally Owned Is a Difference-Maker

In addition to the qualities that one seeks in a service provider, being local allows us to give you excellent service every time. Here’s why:

1. We Can Respond Fast

Waiting to start your restoration process will mean that the damage has time to expand and create additional costs and time requirements to be fully completed.

However, partnering with SERVPRO of Beaver County can end your troubles, as we’re available 247. We always have multiple teams ready to be there day or night.

2. We’re Prepared for Local Weather Conditions

Because we’re part of the community, we experience the same weather as you do. We prepare our resources ahead of time so that we can be ready for action when the storms are gone.

This means that we have firsthand knowledge of the weather trends here in Pennsylvania. Like how we experience over 52 inches of combined snow and rainfall each year, which increases our likelihood of suffering flooding or other water-related damage.

3. We Know Beaver County Front and Back

Many restoration companies that provide service to our area aren’t actually from here, and they travel in from out of state or other regions. This means that they probably do not know their way around or understand how our area is special.

Our team knows about the community because they themselves are part of it. We know about the hard course at Harmony Ridge Golf Club and the positive impact of the local Community College of Beaver County.

We also know how the local government operates, including the regulations, which means that we can get your restoration process up and running before anyone that isn’t from here could.

An Extra Benefit

Knowing all this, you can feel secure knowing that we’re prepared to assist this community through any kind of disaster.

Not only is SERVPRO locally owned and operated, but we’re backed by a national brand with years of experience. This means we can call on our neighboring locations for extra help when the disaster spreads throughout our region.

When disaster strikes your home or your business, we’re the team you can trust—located right here, close to home. Get in touch today to get started!

Do You Have a Well-Stocked Office Emergency Kit? | SERVPRO® of Beaver County

1/19/2022 (Permalink)

Office Emergency Kit Emergency kits can help you at the time of disaster and SERVPRO is here to help after.

An emergency scenario is one that no one ever wants to endure, especially within the workplace. Unfortunately, disasters operate on their own schedules and often occur at seemingly the most inopportune times.

If you own a business, it is important that you plan ahead for these types of emergencies so you can keep yourself and your staff safe if one occurs during the work day.

### Why Should I Pack an Office Emergency Kit?

Packing an office emergency kit is one of the best ways to keep everyone safe and comfortable in the event of an emergency scenario. By packing provisions for each person in your office, if emergency officials instruct you to remain in place during an emergency, you can all stay safe and comfortable until you can leave the premises.

By keeping a workplace emergency kit, you can have the peace of mind that comes with being well-prepared for anything that happens.

### What to Pack in an Office Emergency Kit

During an emergency, keeping everyone as safe and as comfortable as possible can go a long way. While you likely will not be in a scenario where you are stranded in the office for long, preparing for the worst is a wise decision for those “just in case” scenarios.

These items are the bare essentials to pack in your office emergency kit to do just that:

  • Enough water for each person for several days
  • Nonperishable foods and eating utensils
  • Flashlights and their corresponding batteries
  • An NOAA emergency weather radio

Additionally, if you have the space and the ability, keeping some more comfort items such as emergency blankets and entertainment such as cards can be a great way to keep everyone occupied and comfortable while you wait for help to arrive.

### Where to Store an Office Emergency Kit

It is important that you store your office emergency kit properly to preserve its contents and be certain it is ready when you need it. Airtight plastic bags work well for individual items, while totes with secure, snap-on lids are a great way to keep everything together.

Keeping your emergency kit in the kitchen or in a supply closet is a great way to keep it out of the way but still accessible should it be needed.

*If your office experiences an emergency scenario, we are here to help with recovery. We can handle commercial restoration for fire damage, water damage and more. Contact us today to learn about all of the services we offer.*

As you research home restoration companies, there are some questions that you must ask every company you contact.

Are They Too Good to Be True?

People who have had disaster strike their homes before, know that scammers seem to come from nowhere and literally take your money and run. They typically chase storms from city to city, so that they can be at your beck and call when you need them. Don’t fall for their games!

SERVPRO has been in this industry for over 50 years, so it’s safe to say we aren’t going anywhere. We have worked hard to earn a reputation that we put in any necessary amount of work to ensure our customers’ satisfaction.

Are They Readily Available?

Most disasters happen at the most inopportune time! Whether it’s during a holiday, at night or any other time, more times than not, it certainly doesn’t happen between the hours of 9 and 5. That is why we have someone on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We know that disaster waits for no one, and the longer your home sits damaged, the more harm and expense it can incur.

What If There’s Too Much Work?

With SERVPRO, there’s no such thing! SERVPRO of Beaver County is locally owned and operated, and because of that, we are readily available to serve you and the rest of our community.

Changes in Seasons Means Changes in Safety | SERVPRO® of Beaver County

12/14/2021 (Permalink)

img src =”tire.jpg” alt = "a close-up image of a car and tire moving through snow ” > If winter weather should bring damage to your home or business, contact SERVPRO of Beaver County for fast, restorative solutions.

As the seasons change from the beautiful fall foliage to blankets of white all around us, we know that our lives are changing as well. We become focused on things like family gatherings, religious holidays, or even looking forward to celebrating the end of another year.

As we prepare ourselves for a busier time of year, we must remember safety can’t take a back seat. Here in Monaca, we are familiar with winter hazards like ice, snow and freezing temps.

So, let’s take a quick look of the important things you can do to help protect your home, family and pets from potential dangers.

Protect Your Family

Communicating is essential in an emergency. You can help your family prepare for a winter weather event by practicing an emergency action plan. By communicating this clearly and effectively, you can help your family remain calm if they have to ever use it.

Another way you can be prepared for winter weather is to make sure your vehicle is in good working condition. You should keep an emergency safety kit in your vehicle in case you ever need to take shelter in there. This kit should include things like batteries, flashlights, a blanket and a warm change of clothing.

Protect Your Home

Winter freezes can cause your home to have frozen pipes. This is one of the greatest threats that homeowners face during the winter months. If your pipes burst, it can cause damage to your home and everything in it.

Thankfully, nowadays we have heat sources that can help keep your family warm. Before you use your HVAC or other heat system for the first time in a given season, make sure you have inspected it and it’s in good working condition.

You may also choose to use a fireplace that burns real wood, which is great if you lose power. But have your fireplace inspected to ensure it is cleaned out and well-ventilated.

Protect Your Pets

Our pets are usually treated like family, and because we know that they can’t care for themselves, we need to ensure they are taken care of. Make sure your pets have a warm shelter to retreat to when weather conditions get bad.

And while not all animals can come indoors, you must take extra precautions with them. Ensure that they have plenty of food and thawed water.

Watch for Melts and Flooding

Snow and ice will eventually melt and can cause dangerous floods.. These floods can cause serious damage to your home and become costly.

Keep an eye on on the weather reports, and take precautions when flooding is possible.

If winter weather should bring damage or flooding to your home or business, contact SERVPRO for fast, restorative solutions.

Training Makes a Difference When It Comes to Home Restoration | SERVPRO® of Beaver County

5/6/2021 (Permalink)

insurance document, pen and blue book sitting on black tabletop Contact SERVPRO of Beaver County today. We work with you and your insurance company to get things back to normal quickly.

It can be overwhelming to discover that your home has been damaged by a fire, water or a storm, but one of the most important things is to choose the right restoration company to help you in the aftermath.

Many people severely underestimate the likelihood that an issue will occur in their home. It is estimated by the Insurance Information Institute that about one in 350 Americans will file a claim related to fire damage in any given year—and when you add in other types of damage such as water and storm-related issues, the likelihood jumps to one in 20.

While this can be a frightening statistic, the best thing homeowners can do is have a plan for what restoration company they will work with in the aftermath. The right company should be highly trained, extremely reputable and well-versed in all kinds of damage—which is exactly the value that we aim to provide.

How Training Makes a Difference When Homes Need Restoration

Every single technician that SERVPRO of Beaver County employs has been extensively trained and is an expert in their given field. We invest heavily in our technicians’ training, providing them with not only training from our own time-tested program, but also giving them the opportunity to earn certifications via the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC).

The IICRC is the industry’s standard for up-to-date information regarding restoration and clean-up, and their training programs are unparalleled in quality and information.

Through all the knowledge they have gained, our expert technicians are ready to tackle whatever type of damage you happen to have in your home. From water to fire to storm damage, our extensive training and expertise means that we are ready to tackle anything that mother nature sends your way.

If your home is damaged due to a fire or any other cause, you can always count on us for restoration assistance. We have teams who are available 247 in the event of an emergency. Contact us at any time to learn more about our restoration services and how we can help your family.

Property Management: Tips on owning a second property

6/3/2019 (Permalink)

Simple tips and tricks can help you keep your second property in top shape!

Investing in multiple properties for long term leases or short term rentals is a great way to pull in some extra income.  Unfortunately, rowdy tenants can create more than superficial issues.  Here are tips to keep your rental home top notch.

Family Groups Only

If you work in short term rentals, thoroughly vetting who you rent your property to can make a load of difference.  Renting only to family groups can help prevent unnecessary home damage.

Instructions for Chimney Use

Operating a fire place can be fairly simply, but every fireplace is different.  Leave clear instructions for you guests on how to operate your individual fireplace.  Make sure to get your chimney cleaned annually, at least.  Rented homes get used and they get used a lot. The amount of soot that your fireplace can accrue on your rented home can be double or triple what you would use in your private home. The last thing you want is a fire brewing in your chimney.

Winterizing your property appropriately

If you have invested in a summer home that’s in an area with cold winters, you will need to winterize your home.  If you don’t winterize your home you are at risk for major water damage from burst frozen pipes.  Even worse, since the home is not occupied for a long period of time that water damage could turn into other issues such as intense mold breeding.  Make sure to drain your pipes and set your home at an appropriate temperature (50-55 degrees).

Unfortunately, we know you can’t predict what every guest will do.  That’s why we are here. From cleaning up from dirty guests to remediating major water damage.  We will make your rental property “Like it never even happened.”

Summer Vacations: Preparing Your Home While You're Away

4/18/2019 (Permalink)

Rest easy knowing your home is safe!

Have you planned your summer vacation yet?  Whether it’s a long weekend or an extended stay, we’ve put together some tips and tricks for keeping your home safe and sound during your much-needed R & R.

Unplugging Electronics

Appliances can short circuit during a storm and cause an electrical fire and major damage.  Make sure to go through and unplug electronics such as, routers, televisions, and computers.  It helps save on energy bill, too!

Close Windows and Doors

Making sure all windows and doors are closed and locked.  This can cause double damage!  Unlocked doors and windows are an open invitation to thieves that can cause unwanted damage to your property.  Open windows can also let in humidity and heat, causing condensation that can lead to mold.

Turn off your water

Turning off your main water supply can prevent water damage.  Slow leaks can turn into major flooding.  There is nothing worse than coming home to a water damaged home!

Adjust the Thermostat

If adjusting the thermostat (another great way to save energy costs!), make sure to not completely turn of the A/C.  The air conditioning regulates temperature and moisture – the two main culprits for mold. The standard recommendation is around mid to high 70’s or a few degrees higher than your normal temp.

Clean Up Food

Don’t leave any perishables/ food out – this can attract some unwanted house guests! Cleaning out the refrigerator can also alleviate walking back to a smelly house.

Have an extra set of eyes

Have a trusted friend or family member check on your property while you are away.  If something unfortunate does happen, it can be spotted and rectified before any further damage can occur.

Lastly, we know that even the most prepared homeowner can have a disaster strike at any moment.  Know that SERVPRO of West Beaver County is here for you and your home.

Now go and enjoy that well-deserved vacation!
